Disturbing Bullying Incident at Adisadel College Causes Outrage
We recently reported on a shocking video that has been circulating online, exposing a distressing incident of bullying at Adisadel College. The video, which has gone viral, captures a final-year student mercilessly bullying his junior colleague. The disturbing clip has sparked massive anger and outrage on social media platforms.
According to reports, the altercation between the two students originated from a trivial issue within their dormitory. Unfortunately, things quickly escalated, resulting in a physical scuffle. The distressing video clearly shows the senior student, who visibly possesses greater strength, gripping the victim by the neck from behind and forcefully moving him between beds. Eventually, he slams the victim’s face onto one of the bunk beds.
As a result of this violent act, the victim suffered injuries. The worrying footage displays the immediate aftermath, with the victim’s cheeks swollen and bleeding. It is truly disheartening to witness such cruelty inflicted upon a fellow student.
In response to this appalling incident, Adisadel College has taken decisive action. The school’s Twitter account released a statement announcing the immediate dismissal of the final-year student captured in the viral video. However, the student will still be allowed to write his final exams with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), pending a final decision from the school’s Board of Governors and the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The statement further revealed that the incident actually occurred on the 30th of June, 2023, in Quaque house, although the video only recently began circulating. This suggests that the issue was not promptly addressed, raising concerns about the school’s response to such misconduct.
Furthermore, the student who was victimized has been suspended, which raises questions about whether the school has fully considered the power dynamics at play in this situation. It is important that all parties involved are held accountable, including the one who recorded the incident and the witnesses who failed to report it. The housemaster and his deputy will also face varying degrees of sanctions for their failure to address the incident appropriately.
In light of the severity of the assault, the police have been invited to conduct investigations into the matter. It is crucial that justice is served and that the responsible parties face legal consequences for their actions.
