A pair of twins born in California have made history after being born in two different years separated by only 15 minutes.
According to People, the mother at the center of the record-breaking went into labor on New Year’s Eve at 11:45 p.m. and gave birth to a son called Alfredo.
15 minutes after the new year began, Madrigal and her husband, Robert Trujillo, welcomed their second child, a daughter named Aylin.
This means that the new bundle of joy will have distinct birthdays in terms of the day, month, and year.
The delighted mother expressed her surprise and joy that the second twin came at midnight, giving the twins separate birthdays.
In a Natividad Medical Center press release, Madrigal stated, “It’s amazing to me that they’re twins with different birthdays,”
According to family doctor Dr. Ana Abril Arias, the unusual incident was undoubtedly one of the most memorable births of her career.
She noted that it was an honor to have been in charge of ensuring the twins’ safe delivery in different years.
