Nyanaleth Majok says she had a good dating period with her boyfriend, Mayen Deng Lueth, who was deaf and one of South Sudan’s best wrestlers; they both planned to marry.
But, sadly, death robbed her boyfriend, Mayen, when he was murdered for an unknown reason. According to some relatives, Mayen’s assailant has been apprehended.
A few days after Mayen Deng’s death, his girlfriend Nyanaleth made a rare brave decision and walked over to Mayen’s parents.
She recounted her courtship history with the late boyfriend before declaring her intention to marry late Mayen.
The family was ecstatic when they learned that young Nyanaleth had decided to marry their late son.
According to Dinka tradition, Nyanaleth will be given in inheritance to one of Mayen’s living brothers to bear children who will be named after the late Mayen.
Nyanaleth will continue to be Mayen’s wife even though he is no longer alive.
