Female Student of T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School arrested for faking her own kidnap

Esther Boadiwaa, a female student at T I Ahmadiyya Senior High School, told police that she had lied to her parents about being kidnapped, despite the fact that she was in the Volta Region with her boyfriend.

On December 22, last year, Fomena Police Commander Supt. Albert Fii Ochil reported the incident on January 6. According to the daily guide, this was a fabricated incident.

According to police, they have been charged with making a false report in order to cause public panic and anxiety in violation of section 208 of the Criminal Code (Act 29/60).

Esther is accused of giving her mother, Akosua Abuyaa, an audio recording in which she claimed three people abducted her and drove her to Hohoe.

Esther claimed in an audiotape that the men had a sexual relationship with her but that she had not demanded a ransom.

Superintendent Ochil stated that an investigation had begun, but this was later revealed to be a lie.

While being interviewed by her parents again, she admitted later that she made up the kidnapping story in order to avoid her mother, who had forbidden her from visiting her boyfriend in Hohoe.

Esther’s charge of false alarm would be brought before the court, according to Supt. Ochil.

Following two weeks of living with her boyfriend, Esther said the police asked her to return home. She was later accompanied by her mother to the police station to notify them of her return.
