Today, 2nd July marks exactly ten (10) years of the most memorable match (according to FIFA) in the entire 2010 FIFA world cup tournament that was hosted in South Africa, the match between Africa (Ghana) and Uruguay.

The whole of Africa and some parts of the world ware shocked after the current Barcelona star Luis Suarez together with Asamoah Gyan denied Ghana of the semi-finals.

Following a 1-1 draw after normal time, the game headed into extra-time. in the dying minutes of the match, a corner kick was awarded to ghana which nearly got a second goal for Ghana from Dominic Adiyiah’s header until Luis Suares saved the uruguays by using his hands.

Ghana won a penalty in what was to be the last kick of the game after suarez was sent of. Gyan, who had successfully converted two penalties prior, stepped up but could only drive his shot agaisnt the crossbar.
