Did you know that Chidinma Ekile, the popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, was born blind? It may come as a surprise to many, but Chidinma recently revealed this fact in a video she posted on her YouTube page while talking about her childhood.
Chidinma’s parents tried everything they could to help her see, but nothing worked. They turned to God for help, and miraculously, The singer gained her sight. It was a moment of great joy and relief for her family.
After she regained her sight, her mother made an agreement with God and dedicated her daughter to Him. Chidinma’s faith has been a big part of her life ever since, and she recently switched to gospel music to share her love for God with her fans.
She said; “I was born blind actually, I didn’t open my eyes at all, and that became a challenge, my parents tried all that they could to get me to see, all proved abortive.
“We had to resort to God, here is my mum, being a prayer warrior; she just started praying all of a sudden, started fasting from nowhere. These were things my parents were never used to but they had to because of the situation. And eventually, I started to see.
“I remember that my mum, according to her, had promised to give me back to God, if God could help her solve that problem. Without my knowledge, my mum made a deal with God.”
