Who is Coolio?
Coolio was an American rapper who became popular in the middle and late 1990s. In 1987, the rapper released his first single, “Whatcha Gonna Do?” This led to a record deal with Tommy Boy Records, and in 1994, he released his first solo album, It Takes a Thief.
In 1995, Coolio released “Gangsta’s Paradise”, featuring R&B singer L.V., for the film Dangerous Minds which became one of the most successful rap songs of all time. It was the U.K.’s second best-selling single of 1995. The song won him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance at the 1996 Grammys.
He put out four albums between 2001 and 2008 that didn’t do well on the charts. “Coolio.com,” “El Cool Magnifico,” “The Return of the Gangsta,” and “Steal Hear” were the names of these websites.
In 2008, he hosted “Cookin’ with Coolio,” an online cooking show. In January 2012, he came in second place on the Food Network’s “Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off.”
Coolio Cause of death
The rapper died at age 59 on September 28, 2022. It is widely thought that he passed away as a result of a heart attack, despite the fact that the official cause of his death has not been disclosed. At four o’clock in the afternoon, emergency personnel responded to a call, as reported by CNN. They found Coolio unresponsive on the bathroom floor of a friend’s LA house and started “resuscitation efforts for approximately 45 minutes,” Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
In a statement to CNN, the rapper’s manager Sheila Finegan confirmed that he had died. She also said that they were sad and honored his legacy. “We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and client, Coolio, who passed away this afternoon, He touched the world with the gift of his talent and will be missed profoundly. Thank you to everyone worldwide who has listened to his music and to everyone who has been reaching out regarding his passing. Please have Coolio’s loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.”
