Deborah Samuel, a Level 200 student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, was assassinated by an enraged Muslim classmate over a statement she made in the class WhatsApp group.
She warned her fellow classmates to cease discussing religious problems in the WhatsApp group, which they consider blasphemy because they were discussing Prophet Mohammed.
They abused her till she died and then burned her body to ashes.
Rakia, one of her coursemates, informed the media of her friend’s last words before she was lynched.
Deborah, she claims, questioned them about what they hoped to achieve with the lynching during the process. Deborah’s final words were, “What do you intend to achieve with this?”
