Cindy Thompson, a famous Gospel singer from Ghana, recently revealed that her hit song ‘Awurade Kasa’ helped Former President John Agyekum Kufuor win the 2000 elections.
She didn’t know about this until the Former President invited her to the Castle and confessed to her about it.
Cindy Thompson said that she had no idea about the impact of her song when she released it. She didn’t know about any political parties like NPP or NDC or even CPP. She just sang the song because she wanted to praise God.
President Kufuor looked for Cindy Thompson until he found her. He called her manager and asked to meet her.
Cindy Thompson couldn’t believe it when she met the President of the nation. She was in her mother’s kitchen when she got the call.
When President Kufuor saw Cindy Thompson, he said, “Are you that little girl? You are not grown up either. God richly bless you. Your music has helped me. I believe your music is one of the reasons why I won. Through your song, I have also received the blessings of God.”
Cindy Thompson was happy to hear that her song had such a big impact on the election. She thanked God for giving her the song and helping President Kufuor win the election.
