Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger lands in Ghana for a vacation.
Following Callum Hudson-Odoi, Antonio Rudiger has become the latest Chelsea player to visit Ghana.
Avram Grant, a former Chelsea and Black Stars coach, accompanied the German defender to the West African country on Monday.
The couple, who arrived on Monday, will stay in Ghana for a few days before departing.
Rudiger is scheduled to return to London in three days to begin pre-season training with his Chelsea colleagues.
Thomas Tuchel has granted the Sierra Leone descent a lengthy vacation following his involvement with the German national team at the 2020 European Championship.
Rudiger gave it his all in Germany’s 2-0 Round of 16 loss to historic rivals England on Tuesday.
It should be noted that another Chelsea player, Callum Hudson-Odoi, was in Ghana for vacation last month. He paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo and attended various Ghana Premier League matches during his tour.
The attacker was given a personalized Phobian shirt in one of the games between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
Between 2014 and 2017, Avram Grant guided the West Africans to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations final, where they were defeated on penalties by Cote d’Ivoire two months into his tenure.
In the 2017 edition, he also led the squad to the semi-finals of the continental showpiece. After losing to Burkina Faso in the third-place match, the Black Stars finished fourth in the competition.
Prior to taking the Ghana position, he managed Chelsea, Portsmouth, and West Ham United.
