Check out some interesting scenes captured at Christian Atsu’s funeral

Apart from several big highlights that trended on social media, the late Christian Atsu Twasam’s burial ritual was also marked by other noteworthy happenings.

Cameras filmed both crazy and intriguing situations on the State House forecourt, where people from all walks of life flocked to pay their respects to the former Black Stars player.

The burial went over without a hitch, yet these unusual happenings couldn’t go ignored.

  1. Sulley Muntari almost assaults paparazzi

Sulley Muntari, a former Black Stars player, would have thrown a strike on the cheeks of several videographers and bloggers who trailed him about with cameras while he was busy grieving his comrade if it hadn’t been for the timely intervention of other people there.

It’s unclear what caused the altercation, but things escalated so quickly that Muntari nearly beat the ‘living daylight’ out of these people.

This happened not long after he arrived at the event grounds and was being brought to his seat.

  1. Hundreds of people around Christian Atsu’s funeral.

The last time anything like this happened was in 2018, when a swarm of admirers stormed the burial grounds and crammed the vehicle carrying the late Ebony Reigns’ lifeless remains.

On Friday, March 17, 2023, immediately after Christian Atsu’s lifeless remains were hoisted and put in the hearse, security found it exceedingly difficult to disperse the throng and clear the route for the hearse to go to the burial sites.

Wailing in the streets were a variety of admirers, including some members of the Black Stars Fans Union, making it impossible for the corpse to leave the event grounds.

  1. On-stage performance by Asamoah Gyan

Former Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan entered the center stage, grabbed the microphone, and entertained spectators during Christian Atsu’s burial event at the State House forecourt in Accra.

‘Baby Jet,’ who is also a superb musician, gave the crowd back-to-back songs and amazing performances that had admirers on their feet.

  1. Stunning cultural exhibition

The burial grounds were the most traditional, with several cultural troupes completely representing Christian Atsu’s tribe in great manner.

The late player, who was of Ga-Adangbe and Ewe origin, had both magnificent cultures showcased during his burial, which was held at the State House in Accra.

The event’s costumes, dancing, drumming, and tribute incantations were a sight to see.
