Gifty Adorye, popularly known as Empress Gifty, feels that adultery is a part of marriage and has advised couples not to rule out the chance that their spouses may cheat on them.
According to the gospel singer, confessing the deed is a part of marriage that may rescue many spouses from the devastating effects of heartache.
In an interview with Accra FM, she said that it is a great mistake for couples to think of one another as saints.
“What I can say is that, if you are a married man or married woman, cheating is part of marriage. If you don’t bear that in mind, you will go mad when it happens to you. You see, don’t see your husband as Holy Ghost. Don’t consider your wife as [Hail] Mary. No. Acknowledge that your partner is a human being. Think about divorce just as you thought about your wedding,” she asserted.
Empress Gifty went on to say that spouses may forgive one other if adultery is seen as a sign of weakness and treated as such.
“You are able to forgive if you see it as their weakness. Because if you don’t love their weakness, the marriage will not survive,” she added.
Her first marriage to Prophet Elisha Osei ended in 2014, and she is now married to Hopeson Adorye, a notable member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She established that, although being married, her spouse had the right to privacy.
