Former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Dapaah, has responded to recent publications regarding the alleged discovery of large sums of money in her bank accounts by the Special Prosecutor. Last week, JoyNews, a subsidiary of the Multimedia Group, reported that they had obtained documents revealing the frozen funds in the former minister’s account. However, Dapaah’s lawyers released a statement categorically denying these claims, stating that the figures being circulated are completely fabricated.
According to the statement, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) did not release any such figures to the public domain in their application filed at the High Court, as reported by JoyNews. The lawyers have threatened legal action against the media house if they fail to apologize and retract the publication within three days.
Dapaah’s lawyers emphasized that their client vehemently denies any involvement in any financial misconduct and asserts that the allegations are baseless. They claim that the publication has caused significant damage to Dapaah’s reputation and demands an immediate correction. The former minister’s legal team expects a swift response from JoyNews and hopes that this matter can be resolved amicably.
