Bryce Christopher Young is the quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide in American football. He holds the record for most passing yards in a single game by an Alabama quarterback and won the Heisman Trophy in 2021.

Throughout the 2020 season, Young served as the backup quarterback to junior quarterback Mac Jones during his freshman year at Alabama. Young made his collegiate debut against Missouri on September 26, 2020, in the late third quarter at Faurot Field. Young went 5-of-8 for 54 yards passing and two yards rushing on four attempts that night. Young appeared in nine games in 2020, finishing with 156 yards passing and one touchdown. He also took a knee with about 15 seconds left to seal Alabama’s 52-24 victory over Ohio State in the 2021 CFP National Championship.

Young made his debut as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback on September 4, 2021. He passed for 344 yards and four touchdowns in a 44-13 win over No. 14 Miami (Florida).

Young threw for 559 yards against Arkansas on November 20, 2021, breaking the Alabama school record for passing yards in a game. Scott Hunter held the previous record.

Young was the first Alabama quarterback to win the Heisman Trophy after the end of the 2021 season.
