Thomas, a 24-year-old man, is on the verge of starvation after his wife gave birth to a Chinese baby. Thomas and his wife, Somalia, were married and have been living together ever since. Somalia works for Tang, a Chinese man who lives in the same village as them.
Thomas hasn’t eaten anything since Somalia gave birth to a Chinese baby, but he suspects Tang is the father of Somalia’s child. Neighbors have tried to persuade him to eat or at the very least drink water, but he refuses. What could have gone wrong?
According to some neighbors, the wife worked for a Chinese man and had daily contact with him. Since his wife gave birth to a Chinese child, the husband suspects that the child’s true father is the Chinese man and not him.
Thomas, however, has refused to eat because he is the father of her newborn child. When asked about her husband’s behavior, Somalia appeared slightly embarrassed about the entire situation. She replied, “When I was pregnant, I ate far too much Chinese food. That is why I gave birth to a Chinese child.” She wonders why Thomas is refusing to accept his baby.
When Thomas went to confront his wife’s Chinese boss, he let his dogs loose. Thomas returned home, where he continued to starve. His wife has insisted that Thomas is the biological father of her child. He needs to realize that he ate far too much Chinese food while she was pregnant. She is adamant that Thomas accept his child and stop accusing her of adultery.
