A young woman caught on camera asking for alms on the streets of Lagos has been caught for tricking unwary people with a fake baby.
Online videos show the moment when the beggar walked up to a private car and started pleading for help while holding a baby.
The passengers begged the beggar to show the baby’s face because they immediately thought the infant wasn’t real.
They insisted that they wanted to see the baby’s face before giving her money, and the beggar was unwilling to oblige.
The baby’s blanket was then removed by the beggar, which revealed that there was nothing underneath except more clothing.
