Mercy Aseidu is one of Ghana’s most successful Kumawood actresses, yet she didn’t choose acting as a career.
She was a seamstress, according to the 50-year-old actress, who has worked in the film industry for almost 25 years.

She appreciated Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo’s influence, saying, “He pointed out my talent and inspired Mercy and her colleagues to take a chance in performing.”
Mercy Asiedu claims that the well-known Ghanaian Apostle approached her with her colleagues “Agyekoo and Akrobeto were invited to join the concert party crew at the time because it was something they were both interested in. My Godfather aided us in our acting careers by composing a narrative for us to read. He said it would come in handy one day.”
