Beautiful 4-year-old Girl d!es after grandmother forced her to drink whisky while her mother watched
China Record’s grandmother, Roxanne Roxanne, admitted that “she messed up” and told officers that she “wishes to accept full responsibility” for her granddaughter’s death.
A four-year-old girl died after being forced to consume an entire bottle of whisky as punishment.
Police were dispatched to an address in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, around 11 a.m. on Thursday (April 21), following reports of an unresponsive child.
When they arrived, they discovered China Record, 4, dead from what appeared to be alcohol poisoning.
The little girl’s blood-alcohol level was 680 percent, which is more than eight times the state’s legal driving limit of 0.08 percent for adults.
Officers were told by China’s siblings that the little girl had found a bottle of 80 percent proof Canadian Mist whisky and had taken a sip.
When her grandmother, Roxanne Record, 53, discovered what China had done, she ordered her granddaughter to kneel on the floor and finish the rest of the bottle.
According to a police report, China’s mother, Kadjah Record, 29, stood by and watched.
The bottle was thought to be about half-full at the time.
When China became violently ill, the two women placed her in the bath, where she died.
According to the police report, neither woman sought medical attention in China until she had stopped breathing.
Roxanne Record admitted to officers that “she messed up” and stated that she “wanted to take full responsibility” for China’s death.
She admitted that she had gone “too far.”
Neighbors said the family had “kept themselves from stopping themselves” in the two years since they moved in. Kiara Charles, 30, a local, described the little girl’s death as “sickening.”
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, an autopsy confirmed that China died as a result of acute alcohol poisoning.
Dr. Ernest P. Chiodo, a Chicago-based physician, attorney, and toxicologist, told The Advocate, “Even if this was a full-grown adult, this is a fatal amount of alcohol.”
Police Sergeant L’Jean McKneely told reporters that Roxanne and Kadjah had been apprehended.
The following morning, both women were formally arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is still going on.
