Basketmouth has proclaimed himself unattached and seeking following the news of his split a few weeks ago.
In an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM, the Nigerian stand-up comedian stated his desire to mingle with Ghanaian women before marrying one.
Basket Mouth declared his split from his wife, Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, on December 22, 2022, in a widely circulated Instagram message that has since been deleted.
He announced the end of his 12-year marriage, he said: “for the first and the last time as much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation. “After much deliberation, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need,”
Twi is an amazing language, I am going to learn more. On my way here, I said to myself, wouldn’t it be cool to learn the language and come stay here for like a year? You know, just chill, get married to a Ghana woman and stuff,” he said amidst laughter.
“I am single but you know I am just kidding. I am not ready to jump into anything just yet…maybe am not kidding, who knows,” Basketmouth added.
The famous stand-up comic who is currently presenting a rib-cracking performance in Ghana has proclaimed his affection for the nation, its people, and its attractive women.
In a conversation with Andy Dosty today, March 28, 2023, he stated that he is unmarried and plans to give himself some time before getting into a new relationship following his split with Elsie.
