Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed his relationship with Ghanaian hip-hop artiste Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, better known as Mzbel.
The 40-day Islamic funeral ceremony for Mzbel’s late father was a star-studded affair attended by most of Ghana’s showbiz and entertainment industry people.
Aside from showbiz personalities, politicians and sports figures also attended the event, which was held in Accra on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
Asamoah Gyan, a Ghanaian football legend, was among the athletes who attended the event.
Speaking to the media at the event, the former Black Stars striker revealed his relationship with Mzbel.
“People are unaware of my relationship with Mzbel, but we have a long history.” I met her around 2005, and we’ve been friends for a long time, as evidenced by the fact that we’re still friends today, in 2022.
“My father lived on the next lane from where we’re having this event, so this is where I grew up.” Mzbel and I are very familiar with each other.
When my late mother died, she showed me love like a sister, and she is more to me than the Mzbel that everyone knows. As a result, I’m here as a brother to support her,” Asamoah Gyan explained.
