Amakye Dede’s long-lost son, Derrick Amakye Dede, caused a stir on social media last weekend. In a passionate video, he openly criticized his father for neglecting him and his siblings.
He expressed his deep pain and frustration at being disregarded by his biological father. According to Derrick, Amakye Dede has denied being his father and has refused to take responsibility for him.
He also accused his father of labeling his mother with a derogatory term. Derrick retaliated by suggesting that if his mother is considered promiscuous, then his father should accept being called a gigolo.
In the video, he also mentioned another young man named Nana Amakye, whom he claims is also Amakye Dede’s biological son and accused the music legend of neglecting him too. However, Derrick has since publicly apologized to his father for his insulting remarks.
In an exclusive interview, Derrick revealed that he hadn’t seen his father in almost 17 years, since he abandoned him. He explained that the last time he saw his father was when he was hospitalized several years ago.
Derrick clarified that his attack on his father was not for attention-seeking purposes but rather came from a place of pain and frustration.
He admitted feeling a deep rage after seeing his father insult and demean his mother in a video. During the interview, Derrick disclosed that his mother collapsed and was rushed to the hospital upon learning about Amakye Dede’s social media insults.
