Former Minister for Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has been arrested by the Office of the Special Prosecutor on allegations of corruption.
The arrest was made following the discovery of millions of cedis allegedly stored in her house, which was brought to light due to her house-help’s theft.
In a statement released by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, it was stated that Ms. Dapaah was placed under arrest on 24 July 2023 and is being questioned by authorized officers.
However, many Ghanaians remain skeptical and believe this to be a mere public relations move by the government to save face.
