Actor Clement Bonney, also known as Mr Beautiful, has criticized President Akufo-Addo’s government for the decline of the movie industry in Ghana.
In an interview with ZionFelix, Mr Beautiful expressed his belief that the government’s lack of regulation and guidance in granting TV licenses has had a detrimental impact on the industry.
He lamented the increasing presence of foreign content on Ghanaian television stations, which often neglects the use of the Ghanaian language.
Mr Beautiful highlighted the need for authorities to take action, citing the example of Nigeria, where content is carefully regulated.
Ultimately, he concluded that President Akufo-Addo’s government has failed to support the Ghanaian movie industry.
