Akuapem Poloo speaks on lesbianism in prison as she experiences prison life for the first time (video).
Contrary to popular belief, our different jails are not overrun with homosexuals. Akuapem Poloo, who has firsthand experience with prison, has offered her thoughts on the notion of lesbianism in female prisons.
The mother of one, who was released approximately a week ago after paying the GHC12,000 fine, claimed she never saw a fellow inmate having sexual relations with another lady.
The concept that most female convicts are lesbians should be thrown over the fence since it is deceptive and total falsehood.
She described how she and a large group of other inmates showered in a large washroom together, but no one made sexual attempts toward any other.
The former ex-convict also praised the jail authorities for being stringent about personal cleanliness and emphasized the neatness she observed.
During her interview with Sammy Kay, Akuapem Poloo expressed gratitude to Rev Owusu Bempah, DKB, Chief Of Tepa, and all the other generous persons who contributed to her liberation.
