The Global Citizen Festival was held in Accra’s Black Star Square on September 24, 2022.
Even though it’s been two days since the festival finished, the reactions surrounding it have not yet subsided.
A number of Ghanaians have voiced their dissatisfaction with the lineup of musicians for the night, despite the fact that the night had electrifying performances and a stage and production that had never been seen before.
Akuapem Poloo, who is a well-known actress and social media star, has joined the long list of people who are unhappy with the situation.
In a video she posted on Instagram, Poloo showed how upset she was that the event organizers had decided not to include several local artists.
The actress and brand influencer named Shatta Wale, Wendy Shay, Adina, Becca, and Medikal, and she asked why they weren’t chosen instead of musicians from other countries.
Akuapem Poloo also said that even though there were foreign artists at the festival, it didn’t become a topic of conversation in the media because local stars didn’t get the attention they deserved.
She ended her rant by telling people who work in the music business in Ghana to stick together and support local musicians when things like this happen.
