Akomadan Accident: I threw my baby out of the window – Lady recounts how she and her son escaped (Video)
Various eyewitness testimonies have emerged from the fatal tragedy that occurred just a few days ago in Akomadan.
Passengers on the bus at the time of the fire are still baffled and have no idea how it all began or halted.
A woman has presented a comprehensive account of the accident and how she and her son were able to survive.
According to her, she also bordered the bus from the Upper West Region, which was on its way to Kumasi.
She was traveling with her young son.
As per her story, the driver was quite careless on the road, to the point that they narrowly avoided the first accident.
When they arrived at one of the neighborhoods along the main road, the driver failed to notice the presence of several animals on the road and nearly collided with them. During this time, the car came dangerously close to colliding.
They requested the driver to slow down after they escaped the confrontation, but he refused.
The lady began to clutch her baby tightly at this point. When they arrived at the accident site, the driver lost control of his brakes.
The lady was seated in the front seat, which was where the fire started. Her only desire was to save her child, so she attempted to exit the truck by the main door, but the fire was raging.
When she returned her gaze to the windows, she saw that they had already been shattered by several passengers. It flashed on her that this was her last chance to save her child.
She then threw her baby out the window, unconcerned about where he would land. The second step was to save her life; once again, she was able to flee the fire by using the window.
Luckily for her, she arrived at the hospital to meet her kid in good health and with only minor injuries.
As a result, she suffered minor injuries. She is grateful to God for her and her child’s lives, but she is heartbroken at the deaths of the other passengers.
She feels that if the security guards who were on the scene had been able to break the glass, they could have been spared.
