Ghanaian singer Adina Thembi Ndamse, popularly known as Adina, has disclosed that iconic South African musician, Hugh Masekela, “snatched” her father’s wife several years ago. The revelation came during her interview on Pure FM Kumasi’s show, Hammer Time, hosted by Hammer Nti.
Adina explained that the incident occurred in Liberia, where both Masekela and her father worked as doctors. The award-winning songstress provided a glimpse into the history, stating that during those years in Liberia, Ghanaians and South Africans lived together in harmony.
Masekela, renowned globally as a trumpeter, flugelhornist, cornetist, singer, and composer, reportedly had a child with the woman in question. “Hugh Masekela of South Africa was the one who snatched my father’s wife from him and he has a child with her,” Adina stated on the show.
Following the incident, the singer’s father was reportedly left heartbroken. However, he later found love again and married Adina’s biological mother. Adina’s father is also of South African descent. The singer’s revelation adds a surprising chapter to the connections between the lives of the famous Ghanaian singer and the late South African musician.
