The winner of Season 14 of TV3 Talented Kidz, Abigail Adjiri, has finally had the chance to meet Afronitaa, a dancer from the DWP Dance company who served as her mentor.
The 7-year-old dancer with hearing loss who defeated five other fierce competitors to win the grand prize had her dream fulfilled when she met the internet dancing sensation.
Despite the obstacles Abigail had to overcome on her journey to success, professional dancer and choreographer Afronitaa, 20, said Abigail’s ability and bravery inspired her.
“I saw her when TV3 posted her and I was like ‘wow’.
I wanted to meet her because of the sensation I had from seeing her video and the knowledge that I had a part to play in her life, she stated on 3 Entertainment.
As someone who has long admired the international dance maverick, Abigail views this encounter as a significant turning point.
Abigail will need Afronitaa’s advice and assistance to perfect her abilities and create her own distinct style.
The award-winning dancing queen revealed that she was unaware of her hearing problem until she saw a message on social media.
“I saw a comment that said ‘Disability is not inability and I didn’t know that she had anything wrong with her until I saw that comment,” She remarked “If she’s able to be this passionate about dance with her condition then it means she’s a special one and we don’t have to make it slide”
Positive feedback from supporters who described the encounter between Abigail and Afronitaa as “heartwarming and beautiful” followed the online sharing of the event.
Afronitaa gave the little dancer hugs and encouraging words as they talked about her ambitions to use dance instruction and workshops to promote young children.
“My aim now is to push little children out there to let them know that dance doesn’t end with us.
They are the future actually so if there’s any we can help them, train them and prepare for the future then I want to be that way,” she revealed
Actually, they are the future, so I want to be there to assist in educating and preparing them for it if I can,” she said.
The young dancer is ready to take on the world of dance and make her mark as a gifted and passionate performer, and Afronita, who is ready to assist her, expressed excitement about what the future holds for the dancer.
