A widow and her mother shot dead at their husband’s funeral after his family blamed them for his death.
After being accused of her husband’s death, a widow and her family were shot during his burial. Benita Okwuibe lost her husband, Onyedika Jeremiah, 33, last year after suffering from “elephantiasis.”
When the tragedy occurred, the couple had been married for less than a year. Benita, who is from Enugu State, Nigeria, was shot with her mother and co-wife during Onyedika Jeremiah’s funeral on Thursday, January 13, in Anambra state.
According to a Facebook friend, Benita’s mother and co-wife were murdered, while Benita is in serious condition at the hospital.
Benita, according to her acquaintance, was shot because her late husband’s relatives blamed her for his death.
Benita’s Facebook posts show her grieving for her late spouse, who died last December.
