A suspected Female armed robber, arrested with 2 others in Central Region
Three suspected armed robbers, one a female, were apprehended by police after stealing a car from a driver at a cemetery on the Breman Kokoso-Amanfopong route in the Central Region.
The event occurred on the evening of Sunday, April 16, 2023.
According to Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan, the female suspected robber, Ruth Agyapong, the gang leader, was first apprehended in her hideout and then led the police to the two suspects, Edward and William Kissi.
She is alleged to have rented a Toyota Yaris with the license plate GC-6553-21, and while discussing the fee with the driver, the two other thieves who were hidden in the Cemetery burst out of the bush and began shooting firearms.
They pulled the driver out, stole his phone and money, tied him up with a rope, and fled with the car.
A good Samaritan returning from the farm observed the driver struggling, untied him, and supported the victim in reporting the event to the authorities, and Ruth was arrested after an investigation.
Police recovered one handgun, live bullets, a military uniform, a knife, scissors, and other weapons after searching her hotel room.
The suspect was sent to the Breman Asikuma District Police Command for further investigation.
