The Adamawa State Police Command has detained a 25-year-old man on suspicion of illegal trespassing and trying to commit stealing.
Jika John, who is from the Michika Local Government Area but lives in Wuro Chekke, Yola South LGA, Adamawa State, was detained on Monday, June 6, 2022.
He allegedly disguised himself as a lady and obtained entry into the College of Nursing and Midwifery in Yola in order to take a gas cylinder from the female dormitories.
Speaking to reporters at the Police Command headquarters, Suspect Jika said that there was a female in the school who urged him to pay her a visit so they could have sex.
The suspect stated that on Sunday, June 5, 2022, he made an agreement with the girl to meet on Monday when all of her roommates would be out of the hostel.
When Monday arrived, he dressed as a woman in order to get easy entrance to the hostel.
Jika stated that he was stopped by security between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. on his way to the hostel.
He stated that his intention was to have sex rather than steal.
Responding to questioning from reporters, the OC Crack Squad of the Police Command, CSP Ahmed Danjuma Gombi, stated that he was not at the school to have sex with a lady, but rather to steal a gas cylinder and sell it.
