Samuel Boayitey, a brilliant 13-year-old Ghanaian boy who is physically challenged, is said to walk four hours every day to get to school.
Noble Wisdom Dordoe, a multiple award-winning humanitarian and CEO of Give Me Hope Foundation, revealed the heartbreaking yet inspirational story on LinkedIn, saying the boy is from Affiduase, Sekyere East of Ashanti region-Kumasi.
“The video was sent to me for an intervention which a member of our team Give Me Hope Foundation, Prosper Afram have to go to the village and know more about the story,” he said.
According to reports, Boayitey was disowned by his parents due to his condition, resulting in a total divorce and abandonment by both families, with the exception of his grandmother, who is now caring for him.
Despite his numerous difficulties, the bright young man is said to consistently rank among the top four students in his class and has no intention of abandoning his education anytime soon.
According to Noble Wisdom Dordoe, the 13-year-old requires GHc 650 for a wheelchair and GHc 55k for surgery to correct his deformity.
