Tears flow as body of Police Officer arrives in Obuasi
When the lifeless remains of killed policewoman Constable Sandra Asiedu arrived in Obuasi on Friday morning, the whole town was in sorrow.
The relatives of the dead, who traveled to Damongo to get the body, stated that they needed to return her to Obuasi, where she was born and nurtured, for proper internment in accordance with their traditions.
Upon the family’s arrival, not only did the Obuasi Police Department express their affection for their fallen comrade, but hundreds of mourners from the municipality greeted them.
The late Constable’s family was startled when the Obuasi police offered her a gun salute.
Mr. Victor Osei, the late Constable Asiedu’s father, told the media that the one-week celebration will take place on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Kriki in Obuasi.
“It was sad, but it was a sight to behold. We appreciate the police’s assistance. Mr. Victor Osei stated, “The body has been deposited at the mortuary.”
Sandra’s father stated that he was unaware of the suspect, Louis Asante, who was allegedly her lover. He said that one of Sandra’s Damongo friends confessed that the suspect used to pay for her visits and might stay up to a week there.
He then pleaded for the public’s assistance in apprehending and convicting the culprit.
Sandra Asiedu was discovered dead on August 2, 2021, at her home in Damongo, Savannah. She was discovered in a pool of blood, with knife stab wounds.
