Pastor Mokoro Urges Women to Marry Before 24 and Choose Men 6 Years Older
SDA pastor Elizabeth Mokoro has recently sparked controversy with her advice for women to get married in their early 20s and to avoid marrying their agemates or younger men.
During a past service, Mokoro emphasized the difficulty of finding an older partner if women wait too long to settle down. She argued that the intellectual capacity of a 30-year-old woman is higher than that of a man of the same age, making it unwise to marry someone of the same age.
Mokoro, who has five daughters and one son, stated that none of her daughters will marry beyond the ages of 23-24, and that discussions about marriage will start at 21. She suggested that a four-year age gap is ideal and that women could even marry someone six years older without issue.
Mokoro also discouraged women from considering younger men, rejecting the idea that age is just a number. In addition, she advised men to establish stability in their lives before pursuing marriage. The pastor’s remarks have drawn both support and criticism, with some questioning her views on gender roles and relationships.
