A Nigerian couple’s quiet traditional wedding has won over hearts and spread like wild on social media, in stark contrast to the usual frenzy around weddings.
According to a TikTok video of the couple’s wedding ceremony, they wore just casual jeans and sneakers as they walked down the aisle.
As can be seen in the clip, the wedding took place in a compound in front of a select group of family and friends who dressed in a way that was consistent with the couple’s choice for a low-key marriage.
As is customary, the groom and bride went to the bride’s father and got on their knees to seek for his approval of the marriage.
