Most of our top celebrities especially females, gained their popularity by first jumping into the pageant world before they became known in their respective careers.
Today, we take a look at 5 Ghanaian celebrities who first came into the limelight by competing in beauty pageants.
1. Anita Akuffo
Before becoming a television presenter, Anita Akua Akuffo contested in MISS ECOWAS 2012 where she emerged the second runner up. Also in 2014, she contested in Miss Malaika. She is currently a presenter at TV3 .
2 Regina Van Helvert
Regina Van Helvert came out as the first runner up in 2012’s Miss Malaika. She was born on 6th August 1991and is currently the host of GHOne’s Rythmz entertainment show and Touchdown of Live FM.
3 Kafui Danku
The actress was crowned Miss F&W (Fair and White) Gold 2014, a beauty pageant which was coined from product which was designed to tone and protect the skin from the direct sun rays. Emerging the queen made Kafui Danku the face of the product.
4. Berla Mundi
Ghanaian TV show host Berla Mundi was born on 1st April 1988. She attended Achimota School and continued to the University of Ghana where she studied linguistics and psychology. Before she kick started her journalism career, she contested in Miss Malaika 2010 and came out as the Second Runner Up.
5. Yvonne Nelson
In 2005, Yvonne Nelson was among the finalist for Miss Ghana Pageant and walked away with the title of Miss Talent. She was born on 12 November 1985 and she is an actress, model, film producer, and entrepreneur.
