38-year-old man cuts off his 100-year-old father’s head over GHC1000

The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe, has captured Matthew Ifeanyi, 38. In Ogun State, he is suspected of fatally attacking his own biological father (100 years old) with a machete.

So-Safe’s State Commander, (Dr) Soji Ganzallo, disclosed in an official statement that the Divisional Officer of the Corps at the Alade/Atago/Ntabo Divisional Command got a report of a man beating his biological father with a cutlass.

According to the statement, the Divisional Command immediately dispatched a patrol team to intervene and rescue the victim, Anthony Nnadike, who was 100 years old. When the crew got on the scene, they discovered that the victim had already been transferred to a neighboring hospital, where doctors ruled him dead owing to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities caught the man despite his resistance. The suspect initially stated that his father’s refusal to pay back a $70,000 debt that had been due since July 22, 2022, was the driving force behind his actions during the initial stages of the investigation into the attack’s motive.

The suspect was also handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, specifically the Sango Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible legal action, according to the statement. This tragic tragedy serves as a solemn reminder of the significance of settling family problems and disputes peacefully rather than using violence.
